Showcasing my journey
CozyCorner: Mental Health Companion App
CozyCorner is a mental health video game app created by three University of Michigan students during the Business Tech+ Jam competition. The app provides fast and accessible mental health support for users in moments of immediate need. By combining engaging game features with mental health tools, CozyCorner helps users track and reflect on their mental well-being in real time. This project is still in development, with new features and designs coming soon. I contributed as both Product Manager and UX Designer, leading the app’s core vision and team workflow, while designing features, creating wireframes, and building prototypes.
AFB PROJECT: Website Evaluation
Alternative Fall Break (AFB) was a one-day UX consulting project through the University of Michigan School of Information, where I collaborated with an interdisciplinary team to support two Detroit-based small businesses with both in-person and e-commerce operations. The clients approached us to improve their websites because user experience was not their area of expertise and they lacked certain technical and design capabilities. I contributed to client communication, evaluating their websites, and identifying key usability, accessibility, and navigation issues through heuristic evaluation. Our team translated these findings into actionable short- and long-term recommendations aligned with each client’s business goals and user needs.
Case Study: MSU Tech Website
The Michigan State University (MSU) Tech website serves as a central hub for students, faculty, and staff to access technology services, resources, and support. Because the site supports a wide range of users with varying levels of technical expertise, clarity and ease of navigation are critical to ensuring a positive user experience. Our goal was to evaluate how well the website supports students completing common tasks such as resetting their NetID, activating cloud services, seeking help with enrollment-related issues, and finding tech-related events. By focusing on these high-impact tasks, we wanted to uncover user pain points, identify barriers to access, and generate recommendations for improving the site’s user experience.
Designing for Privacy
As part of my UX Methods course, I collaborated with a team of four to develop a contextual design focused on helping users better protect their privacy and understand where their personal information is shared. Using provided interview data from 40 technology users, we explored people’s perceptions of privacy, their comfort with technology, and their preferences for managing personal data. The data from the interviews guided our creation of personas, scenarios, and storyboards that reflect users’ needs for clear and convenient privacy tools.
